SSAF WELLNESS with FUSF

FUSF have the privilege of hosting the SSAF Funded Health and Wellbeing Program for Flinders University.

We are excited to be a University leader in providing Health and Wellbeing activities that are on trend, current, and innovative; providing a foundation that encourages a safe, inviting environment where all students can flourish and grow physically and mentally.

Our ‘Health and Wellbeing program’ will invest time in health-related needs such as Exercise, Nutrition, Mobility, Rest, Mindfulness including Yoga, meditation, self-love, respect and confidence.

An important goal for FUSF is to lead the industry in providing subsidised, meaningful interactions, ignite students interest to increase motivation and decrease depression and low self-esteem.


Main programs for 2024 will include:

Stronger presence in Wellbeing week through community events.

Supporting Oasis, FUSA, Health & Counselling, Student Services throughout campus events.

Mental Health Day, Women and Men’s health week, R U Ok Day, O Weeks, Campus activations.

FUSF events including educational workshops for students, based on health-related activities to build confidence not only in in a gym environment but their general wellbeing, movement workshops to enhance mobility, ‘Cooking on a budget’ and education on “Healthy plate model’ for students to nourish their bodies with good healthy food. Mindfulness workshops to understand the importance of balance especially during busy stressful times.

2024 FUSF Gala Awards Night

FUSF will be holding our annual gala awards night, filled with awards, presentations, recognition of achievements, service and more. It is about you, for you.

Date: Friday 22nd November
Location: Marion Hotel
Time: 7:00pm
Cost: $30 per ticket
Tickets include: Cocktail Food + 1 x Drink on arrival
Attire: Dress is cocktail, so dress to impress!

Awards will be announced across all of FUSF activities; fitness, staff, sport, ADP and clubs.

Be a part of history and join the newly established Flinders University Team for the annual City – Bay! Lace up your sneakers and prepare yourself with the FREE training programs that have been put together by Flinders University Sport & Fitness athlete coaches to get your ready for this event.

Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just looking for a leisurely walk, this event is for everyone. Enjoy the fresh air, connect with fellow participants, and be apart of the Flinders University Community as we unite in a sea of yellow uniforms that you will receive FREE for participating in our team. ‘Trust Your Gut’ with Kellie Finlayson

Kellie Finlayson was dealt a devastating blow when she was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer at the age of 25. As a mother, wife, teacher, advocate, and content creator, her positive mindset has been a powerful tool in her journey of living with cancer. Spend an hour getting to know Kellie, learn how she’s been able to turn a shitty situation into an unbelievably powerful one and leave empowered to check in on yourself, your health and your friends.

Join Kellie and a small panel of researchers from Flinders University to discuss all things bowel cancer.

FUSF Wellness – Bedford Park Campus & City Campus

A perfect opportunity for students to take some time out of your day and participate in a Mat Pilates/Mindfulness class at Bedford Park, enjoy a 10 min massage, some herbal tea for only $5 or take an ICE BATH challenge for an extra $5. Wim Hof Method – Relaxation, Energy & Sleep Tools (REST) 

Balancing your mental & physical energy is important to leading a healthy life. This process can be broken down into 2 parts; 1) becoming aware of where you currently are and 2) implementing tools to help you shift (or remain) in your desired state. This O’Week join the Flinders University Sports Club and Adelaide’s most experienced breathing coach, Kym Burls, for this half day event to learn simple, practical tools to help you strike the right life/study balance.

We’ll be covering topics including;

  • Sleep and sleep hygiene
  • Relaxation & deep rest
  • Breathwork
  • Cold exposure
  • And more

There will be a guided breathing session, education and an optional ice bath to close off the event.

Where: FUSF Level 3 Group Fitness Studio

19th Hole Tee Par-Tee 

Flinders University Sport & Fitness present the ’19th Hole Tee Par-Tee’

This event is your chance to show off your golf skills. Practice your golf skills at our O’week activation space then grab your bucket of 10 x balls and clubs and head down to our pop up chipping platform where you will get the chance to tee off across the lake towards our floating green roughly 50m – 70m from the tee. 

It gets better…. thanks to the Tavern, if you intentionally or unintentionally hit one of our inflatable duck targets you will win a $10 voucher to use at the Tavern, if you land one of your balls on the green and it stays then you will win a $50 voucher from FUSF and finally if you land a miracle ‘hole in one’ you will walk away with $500 cash major prize! (Students Only). Thanks to FUSF & SSAF. If a member of Staff/Public score a hole in one, they will receive a major prize of a free Bronze 12 month membership at FUSF gym (Valued at $450).
